This year, Nintendo Switch shortages have been a huge issue for consumers who are eager to get their hands on the hardware, especially those living in Japan who are still having difficulty in purchase a set.

During Nintendo’s recent financial briefing, the company told investors that they’ve expanded their production capabilities in order to meet the high demand, which has exceeded their “initial projections”.

As part of the increase of production, Nintendo aims to sell 14 million Nintendo Switch units by the end of this fiscal year, and 16 million Nintendo Switch units by the first Nintendo Switch year, which ends on March 2, 2018.
