Comparing the Switch and 3DS’s first and a half year worth of hardware sales, Nintendo Switch is currently outpacing 3DS by a razor thin margin (19.68 million versus 19 million).

However, what makes things interesting are the Switch and 3DS’s first and a half year worth of software sales. The Switch is currently outpacing the 3DS by a whopping 2.4 times. And keep in mind that in their first years, both systems received a Mario Kart game, 3D Mario game, and Legend of Zelda game.
