Nintendo, Creatures Inc, and Game Freak, the companies that own The Pokemon Company, have trademarked the phrase “Pika Vee” (ピカブイ) in Japan.
To those who are unaware, “Pika Vee” is the shortform of Pikachu and Eevee in Japanese. It’s commonly used not just by fans but even by The Pokemon Company itself, so it makes 100% sense to register and protect this precious trademark.

Moving forward, we can expect to see Nintendo and other companies refer to Pikachu and Eevee as “Pika Vee” in Japan. Sometimes it’s used to refer to the Pokemon Let’s GO Pikachu/Eevee games.
