“Playing With Power” Five-Part Nintendo Documentary Coming To Crackle Next Month

Streaming service Crackle has announced they will be premiering a five-part documentary about Nintendo next month.

The documentary is titled “Playing with Power: The Nintendo Story”, written and directed by Jeremy Snead and executive produced (and narrated) by Sean Astin. It is poised to cover the “sprawling story” of Nintendo, and will feature interviews with key players in the industry such as former NoA CEO Reggie Fils-Aimé, Nintendo of America co-founder Ron Judy, former Sega of America CEO Tom Kalinske, head of Xbox Phil Spencer, and more.

Speaking to Deadline, writer and director Jeremy Snead and executive producer Sean Astin had this to say about the series:

Snead: “Producing and directing Playing with Power has been a lifelong ambition of mine as an artist, gamer and filmmaker. To see my show not only come to life with such loving care through my team and I’s efforts but to also have the opportunity to partner with such a talented and experienced team like Screen Media and Crackle to release the series to the public has just been a dream come true.

Astin: …little by little, over four years, the series really came together. I think we’ve created a five-episode journey that will open up the world of video games and this legendary company in a way that most people have never seen…

The series is set to premier on Crackle March 1st 2021.
