Pokemon Co. Reveals Why Charizard Was A Fighter In Smash Bros. Wii U/3DS

The Pokemon Company recently published an informative feature on Pokemon in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate that contains all sort of interesting information, but one point stood out.

In the feature, The Pokemon Company talked about how Charizard was a fighter in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U/Nintendo 3DS, but it returned to become part of the Pokemon Trainer again in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

According to the feature, the reason for that is because Charizard decided to “disobey its trainer for a little while”, similar to what Ash’s Charizard did in the Pokemon anime.

Here’s the full blurb:

The returning Pokémon Trainer can send out Squirtle and Ivysaur, as well as Charizard, which is back at the Pokémon Trainer’s side after its previous standalone appearance. We’d like to believe that this Charizard merely decided to disobey its Trainer for a little while, much like Ash’s Charizard did in Pokémon the Series.

What do you think of this reason?
