Niantic and The Pokemon Company have announced Pokemon GO Battle Showdown Event, which kicks off later today.

For the first two weeks of May, Fighting-type Pokemon will appear more frequently in the wild, such as Mankey, Machop, Makuhita, and Meditite. Players will also have a higher chance of hatching the hard-to-find Tyrogue from an Egg.

During the event, trainers will earn double the XP for taking down gyms and raids, double the XP toward earning a badge after interacting with a gym, and 6 times the amount of Stardust for succeeding in a raid.

Pokemon GO Battle Showdown Event runs from 1 p.m. (PDT) on May 1 until 1 p.m. (PDT) on May 14, 2018.
