Niantic and The Pokemon Company have announced the first details for January 2020’s Pokemon GO Community Day.

The next Pokemon GO Community Day will run on January 19, 2020. The featured Pokemon this time will be Piplup, the water starter from Sinnoh – and its exclusive move will be revealed at a later date.

This time, bonus buffs during the event will include 3-hour lures and 1/4 egg hatch distance. Here are more details below:

The Water-type Pokémon Piplup will be the star of January’s Pokémon GO Community Day, and you’ll definitely want to catch as many of this Pokémon as you can during the event! In the northern hemisphere, this month’s Community Day event will happen on Sunday, January 19, 2020, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. local time. In the southern hemisphere, the event will happen on Sunday, January 19, 2020, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. local time.

Piplup will appear much more frequently in the wild and in raids during this time, and if you’re lucky, you might even find a Shiny Piplup! If you evolve Prinplup (the evolved form of Piplup) into Empoleon during the event or up to two hours afterward, the Empoleon will know an attack it can’t normally learn!

By spinning PokéStops during Community Day hours, you may receive Eggs that will hatch into Piplup. Plus, Lure Modules will last for three hours, and Eggs will require one-quarter the usual Hatch Distance when placed in Incubators during the event.

Check back soon to find out the name of the exclusive attack, and have fun on Piplup Community Day, Trainers!
