Pokemon Let’s GO Is The Only Pokemon Mainline Game That Didn’t Win Any Awards At Tokyo Game Show Awards

Shocking news – Pokemon Let’s GO Pikachu/Eevee has achieved a not very good milestone in the Pokemon mainline series.

During the Tokyo Game Show 2019 awards which saw many awards go to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Pokemon Let’s GO Pikachu/Eevee won…. absolutely nothing. This is the first time since Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire where a mainline Pokemon game didn’t win any awards at the Tokyo Game Show awards, as proven by the list below:

Pokemon Red/Blue (Special Award)

Pokemon Gold/Silver (Excellence Award)

Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire (Excellence Award)

Pokemon FireRed/LeafGreen (Excellence Award, Bestseller Award)

Pokemon Emerald (Excellence Award, Bestseller Award)

Pokemon Diamond/Pearl (Excellence Award, Besteller Award)

Pokemon Platinum (Excellence Award, Bestseller Award)

Pokemon HeartGold/SoulSilver (Excellence Award, Global Award – Japan Creators Category)

Pokemon Black/White (Excellence Award, Bestseller Award, Global Award – Japan Creators Category)

Pokemon Black 2/White 2 (Excellence Award)

Pokemon X/Y (Excellence Award, Bestseller Award, Global Award – Japan Creators Category)

Pokemon Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire (Excellence Award)

Pokemon Sun/Moon (Excellence Award, Bestseller Award, Global Award – Japan Creators Category)

Pokemon Ultra Sun/Ultra Moon (Excellence Award)

This is absolutely shocking as even the “extremely hated” Pokemon Ultra Sun/Ultra Moon won an Excellence Award last year.

Here’s how some Japanese Pokemon fans reacted to the news:

“Loser!”

“They call it a mainline game, but we all know it’s a spinoff.”

“Only elementary school students enjoy this game.”

“Kuso (Shittiest) game of the year.”

“I bet Sword and Shield will suffer the same fate”

“It’s such a bad game”

“Smash Bros. swept away everything, so it can’t be helped”
