Pokemon Run Singapore See A 50% Decrease In Crowd Compared To Last Year

With the recent Pokemon Run Carnival in Taiwan stumbling on bad reviews, we took a look at Singapore’s own Pokemon Run event, which was held yesterday on 27 January 2018.

The event was Singapore’s second time holding the Pokemon Run event and although the event was generally favourably rated by those who attended the event at 4.2 stars out of 5 on their facebook event page, the event saw a drop of attendees by up to 50%.

According to an article by Channel NewsAsia, the run saw an attendance of 3000 runners, a drop from 6000 the year before. The drop was attributed to the other events such as Safari Run and Indie music gig being held across the island nation clashing against the timing of the race.

“It’s really just a clash of dates today … Runs target the same type of people – families. Competition is strong but that shouldn’t stop us,” (General Manager of Infinitus Productions) Mr Tan said.

Overall it was a great job by the Singapore event organisers, although there were some setbacks such as the wet weather the day before causing muddy ground, and a few long queues at the booth. Singaporeans generally enjoyed the Saturday family time at the Pokemon Run event.
