Pokemon Sword And Shield Are Bestselling Games In Japan For 4 Weeks, Luigi’s Mansion 3 Surpasses 300k Copies

Famitsu has published the latest sales data for the Japanese market for the period of December 2 to December 8, 2019.

Pokemon Sword and Shield have been the No. 1 bestselling games in Japan for the 4th week in the row. The games sold 201,838 copies last week, bringing its lifetime total to 2.22 million copies.

Luigi’s Mansion 3 was the second bestselling game last week, which was a huge surprise. The game sold 34,122 copies last week, increasing its lifetime sales to 319,297 units. Also most interestingly, the top 10 bestselling games of last week are games that are on Nintendo Switch. Out of the 10 games, 7 are published by Nintendo.

As for hardware sales, Nintendo Switch moved 122,216 systems, while the Nintendo Switch Lite sold 66,285 units. The total number for the Nintendo Switch system family is over 189,000.
