One year ago, The Pokemon Company released Pokemon TCG Pocket, a new digital adaptation of the popular trading card game for mobile devices.
According to AppMagic, the game is estimated to have brought in $.13 Billion in revenue during its first year. If this estimate is accurate, then it means TCG Pocket surpassed the $1 billion first year earnings of Pokemon GO, which is an astonishing achievement given that how much that game exploded in popularity on launch.
Separately, The Pokemon Company released their own celebratory trailer for the game’s first anniversary, as well as shared some key player statistics. The company says that over 2 billion TCG battles were fought in-game during that period, with over 490 million player showcase card galleries being shared in-game.
