Portal Knights, the award-winning cooperative sandbox action-RPG developed by Keen Games and published by 505 Games, will arrive at major gaming retailers in North America for Nintendo Switch on February 13, 2018, with a retail price of $29.99 USD. New players will be immediately treated to an in-game Spring Festival event in celebration of Chinese New Year. This special event, running until March 5, 2018, will task players with helping the Emperor solve the mysterious troubles plaguing his island. Completing quests in this event will reward players with exclusive Spring Festival themed items and pets such as adorable pandas and dragons. Players also have the potential to unlock a brand new themed island!

Following a slate of successful global launches last year on Steam for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and the Nintendo Switch eShop, the colorful and imaginative world of Portal Knights now makes its way to retail stores to provide players even more ways to build, battle and share their epic journey with friends and family on the Nintendo Switch. Highlighted optimized features for this new version of Portal Knights include:

  • Touch Screen Support: Players can tap and swipe the Nintendo Switch touch screen to manage and organize their inventory faster and more efficiently
  • Online Multiplayer: Play together and explore the expansive 3D sandbox world with friends and Nintendo Switch gamers around the globe with up to four players in online multiplayer mode
  • Wireless Play Support: Play in split-screen up to four players by connecting two Nintendo Switch systems or in full screen up to four players by connecting four Nintendo Switch systems

Nintendo Switch players will also have immediate access to the recently released Portal Knights v1.2 update, which provides players access to brand new features and content including Vacant Islands, new boss quests and vanity items, new enemies and more.

In Portal Knights, players begin their journey as a Warrior, Mage or Ranger, then level up their character while gathering resources to craft powerful weapons, armor and spells to defeat formidable monsters and epic bosses in real-time combat. Players can work cooperatively with friends or family to build structures, explore dungeons and combine the unique attack styles of all classes to overcome challenging perils together while traveling between expansive, imaginative 3D worlds.
