Quality of Life Products still in the Works

Quality of Life Products still in the Works

Often buried in the mountains of gaming news is Nintendo’s Quality of Life product development. The project that was once spearheaded by the late Satoru Iwata himself is still on according to Nintendo’s latest annual report.

Quoting from the report:

Moreover, we are working on the development of a new product that improves people’s QOL (Quality of Life) in enjoyable ways. Our aim is to enable consumers to make daily efforts to improve their QOL in a fun manner by making sleep and fatigue status visible and offering various services based on this information.

While the project appears from time to time, no product was ever specifically shown off, or even appear ready to be shown off. As Miyamoto once said, “A delayed game is eventually good, but a rushed game is forever bad.” We will give Nintendo more time to surprise us, but by then hopefully, it is something good.
