Before their islands were overrun with eggs, the Bass family of fish were the greatest annoyances to Animal Crossing: New Horizons players everywhere.

Due to being common fish that spawns from large shadows, the Sea Bass and the Black Bass are often fished up by players looking for more valuable catches like the Marlin, Coelacanth, and the infamous Stringfish. This makes catching a Bass often a disappointing and eternally frustrating experience, especially if it ends up breaking their fishing rod or consuming valuable fish bait.

In a perfect encapsulation of Animal Crossing fans’ feelings towards the Bass, Youtube Channel Girlfriend Reviews has published “Bass Guy”, a musical parody of Billie Eilish’s song “Bad Guy”.
