Back in 2020, the identical release dates for Animal Crossing: New Horizons and DOOM Eternal led to fans mashing-up the two franchises with fun fan-art of Animal Crossing‘s Isabelle befriending the violent Doom Slayer. While the two characters have yet to officially cross paths in a videogame, it looks like their friendship won’t be so easily forgotten in the upcoming year ahead!

To celebrate New Year’s Day 2021, the official DOOM Twitter has posted a fun photo of Isabelle and the Doom Slayer walking hand-in-hand. Figure collectors will recognize these two as the Nendoroid figurines from Good Smile Company – which is as close as both characters will get to meeting each other in the real world!

Currently, fans are still hoping to see the Doom Slayer to join Super Smash Bros. Ultimate as a DLC character – which would finally tie him and Isabelle together in an official videogame. We’ll just have to see if their wishes come true this year!
