One of Mario’s most iconic features is his upturned mustache – featured in Mario logos, merchandise, and more. This hasn’t stopped fans and meme connoisseurs from editing out Mario’s facial hair on a regular basis just for the fun of it – although the results are often…unnerving. Today’s example is no exception.

A recent fan-mod from M&M completely removes Mario’s mustache from Super Mario Odyssey, leaving him with a smooth baby face. It’s not exactly a pleasant sight, and it makes us appreciate that Nintendo has never really shaved Mario in official media, either.
