Reggie Says Nintendo 3DS Is For Kids So They’ll Continue To Sell It

One of the many frustrations of Nintendo Switch owners is how Nintendo keeps releasing new titles for Nintendo 3DS, even though it’s perceived to be a dead system.

In a Kotaku interview, Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aime was asked to comment on the “3DS-only” releases that arrived in 2018 and are launching in 2019. Reggie said that the bulk of Nintendo’s development focus is on Switch, but the Nintendo 3DS family of systems are perfect entry level devices for children, so Nintendo intends to support it well into the future. He says every gamer “has to start somewhere”.

When Kotaku mentioned that people wanted to play the same games offered on 3DS on the Switch, Reggie responded with the following:

“Well, we want the newest experience to be on Switch. That’s why the upcoming Luigi’s Mansion game is going to be a fantastic experience.”

What do you think?
