Robotech: The Macross Saga HD Edition Has Popped Up On The Switch eShop, From Seemingly Out Of Nowhere

It looks like shoot-em-up fans now have a new Nintendo Switch adventure to take on the go – which recently swooped in from out of left field!

The Australian Switch eShop has updated with a new listing for Robotech: The Macross Saga HD Edition, which appears to be a remaster of the obscure 2002 Game Boy Advance title Robotech: The Macross Saga. In fact, the game is already available for purchase for $12.99 AUD – and will likely be appearing in other regions soon.

Nothing much else is known about this mysterious remaster/port, except that its publisher is ‘GPC Games’ – which apparently worked on Q-Bert Rebooted for PCs. We’ll report back if we hear anything else interesting about this abrupt release.

In the meantime, here are some Switch screenshots along with a synopsis:

Blast off in the next great space adventure to defend Macross City against the invading Zentraedi! The remastered classic Robotech mech-shooter invades the Nintendo Switch™
