Earlier this year, Nintendo officially revealed the Switch 2, which is planned to launch sometime later this year.
According to a post from LiC on Famiboards, Nintendo might be preparing for a launch sooner rather than later. LiC claims that Nintendo contracted Vietnamese manufacturer called HVBG to produce and ship over 380,000 Switch 2 units to North America back in January 2025, alongside 41,598 charging grip units. It is believed that this was part of Nintendo’s early preparations for the console launch, and its highly likely that even more units have made their way over in the months since then.
In a separate report from Bloomberg, analysts predicted that Nintendo was gearing up to sell “6 million to 8 million” Switch 2 units on day one of its launch, and the aforementioned 380,000 contributes significantly towards that total. Until Nintendo makes their official announcement however, we caution readers to take this info with a grain of salt. Stay tuned to hear more after Nintendo’s April 2nd 2025 direct on the Switch 2.
