Japanese Animal Crossing fans are speculating that an Animal Crossing: New Horizons Direct could be happening before January 21, 2020.

The reason is simple – Nintendo Dream. The March 2020 issue of Nintendo Dream is launching on January 21, 2020, and it will contain lots of new information on the game.

Assuming there’s a huge “info dump” coming in Nintendo Dream, it wouldn’t be hard to assume that Nintendo will announce all that information before January 21 in an Animal Crossing: New Horizons Direct. It wouldn’t make sense for Nintendo Dream to release all that information exclusively on January 21, as it’s aimed for a Japanese audience.

Some Japanese commentators are speculating that this Animal Crossing: New Horizons Direct will happen either on January 16 or January 17, 2020 at 7am JST.
