Rumor: Doom The Dark Ages Coming To Switch 2
Earlier this week, Microsoft and Bethesda announced that Doom: The Dark Ages would be releasing on May 15th 2025 for PC, Playstation, and Xbox.
The Switch is notably absent from the announced platforms, despite more recent Doom games all seeing release on the hybrid console. According to insider extas1s, Doom: The Dark Ages is actually planned to release on it’s successor the Switch 2, but the announcement is deliberately being kept under wraps by Nintendo’s request.
The game, which is in full development for the next-gen machine, is being deliberately held back. Nintendo has not given the green light to all of its partners to submit their titles, especially those that would be exclusive to the Switch 2.
Why this extreme secrecy? Because it seems that any game exclusive to the Switch 2 needs special permission from Nintendo before being announced. This would be a strategy to control the hype and avoid leaks until the company decides to reveal more official technical information about its new console.
extas1s, who has shared correct info about Microsoft announcements in the past, previously claimed that Halo The Master Chief Collection, and Starfield were among other Microsoft titles that were heading to Switch 2. If his latest claims are to be believed, we will probably not see any official announcements for these until the console is fully revealed this coming April.
