Following the film’s wildly successful worldwide debut, more rumors have surfaced of a possible sequel to Detective Pikachu.

Rumors about a Detective Pikachu sequel have been circulating even before the film premiered, no doubt due to the strong positive reception of the promotional material and subsequently the film itself.

These latest rumors come courtesy of Comicbook.com, who claim that anonymous sources “involved with the production” confirmed that Legendary Studios was moving forward with a Detective Pikachu sequel, with plans to eventually expand into a Pokemon cinematic universe.

As with all rumors, we caution readers to take these claims with a grain of salt. We will be sure to bring more news on potential future live-action Pokemon films as more official evidence of their existence comes to light.
