[Update] Rumor: Pokemon Diamond/Pearl Remakes Indeed In The Works, Official Reveal Coming In February

Another round of rumors about the alleged Pokemon Diamond And Pearl remakes have surfaced online, this time suggesting that we could be in for an official announcement very soon.

Being among the more beloved games in the long-running franchise, fans have been clamoring for Pokemon Diamond And Pearl to receive remakes for a very long time. Given that 2021 marks the 15th anniversary of the titles, there has been much rumor and speculation that this will finally be the year these requests are fulfilled.

The latest rumor about the Diamond And Pearl remakes comes via Pokemon fan site Centro Pokemon, which claims that sources close to the Pokemon Company have confirmed that the remakes are indeed in the works. These sources go on to claim that the Diamond And Pearl remakes will officially be revealed in February, and that they will be more in line with classic mainline titles as opposed to Pokemon Let’s GO.

Aside from this rumor, fans have also discovered an interesting quirk with the domain name diamondpearl.pokemon.com. Attempting to visit this domain leads to a 403 error, whereas visiting similar sites like blackwhite.pokemon.com and rubysapphire.pokemon.com lead to no domain at all. This may suggest that the diamondpearl domain name has been reserved for the remakes, although this is just speculation.

We will be sure to report back with more details as they come.

[Update]: The domain for diamondpearl.pokemon.com has since been taken down, leaving fans to once again speculate on whether it was truly a hint for upcoming remakes for the games.
