Some intriguing news has surfaced in the gaming leaks and rumors circle regarding a prominent leaker from Chinese forums.

The leaker in question was known as “Factory Uncle” in the community, rumored to be working in one of Nintendo’s production lines. He was well known for leaking information about upcoming new Switch hardware, including the Splatoon 3 OLED and other Special Edition Switches.

According to a post on Famiboards, the Factory Uncle has reportedly been permanently banned from the forum where he was active, and had his thread taken down. What makes this interesting is that it was reportedly at the request of Nintendo themselves, suggesting that they finally took action to put a stop to his leaking activities.

At the time of this writing, it is unclear why Nintendo chose to take action now, despite Factory Uncle being active for quite some time. Some speculate it was to prevent him from leaking information about the rumored Switch successor, although with the thread deleted, it will be difficult to determine if he actually did mention anything of the sort before being banned.
