Rumor: SEGA Reportedly Working On “Big-Budget Reboots” Of Jet Set Radio And Crazy Taxi

Bloomberg has published a new report suggesting SEGA could be planning on reviving a few of its classic franchises.

According to “sources familiar with the matter”, SEGA has been working on big-budget reboots of the driving simulator Crazy Taxi and the cult-classic Jet Set Radio, as part of a plan to find a “global hit like Epic Games Inc.’s Fortnite“. However, the titles are apparently still in the early stages of development, and could still be cancelled.

Should SEGA proceed with these plans, these sources go on to claim that the two reboots will be released sometime within the next one or two years. They will also form the first games in SEGA’s “Super Game” initiative, which aimed to leverage off their software portfolio to “develop recurring revenue sources” and “build online communities”.

As with all reports of this nature, we caution readers to take them with a grain of salt. Stay tuned for more details as they come.
