Sealed Copy Of Kid Icarus (NES) Unearthed In Attic After 30 Years, Sells For $9,000

You might want to dig up the dusty corners of your own home after reading this.

The videogame collecting scene is probably nothing new to many readers here. People love to collect videogames for nostalgic reasons or based on market value – with sealed copies usually fetching the most ridiculous prices out there. Today’s story is no exception, and it also involves a retro classic many older Nintendo fans should be familiar with.

Recently, one Scott Amos in Reno, Nevada re-discovered a pristine copy of 1987’s Kid Icarus for the NES – in none other than his own attic! Apparently, his parents had purchased the game and left it behind there (sealed box, receipt and all) more than 30 years ago.

The find ended up as a nice jackpot for Scott and his family – as they went on to sell the sealed copy for $9,000 via the website Heritage Auctions. Take about an expensive piece of cardboard and plastic!
