SEGA Delisting Most Digital Versions Of Sonic The Hedgehog 1, 2, Sonic 3 & Knuckles And Sonic CD On May 20 2022

Ahead of the upcoming launch of the Sonic Origins collection, SEGA has announced that they will be delisting most of the previous digital releases for the games it contains.

On May 20th 2022, the standalone digital versions of Sonic The Hedgehog 1, 2, Sonic 3 & Knuckles And Sonic CD will be removed from all digital storefronts with a few exceptions. Specifically, the SEGA AGES release of Sonic The Hedgehog 1 and 2, as well as the Switch Online Expansion Pack’s copy of Sonic the Hedgehog 2 will remain unaffected by this change.

What this means is that after May 20th, the only way for newcomers to get their hands on these titles will be to purchase the Sonic Origins collection, which is likely to become a source of annoyance and disappointment for anyone who wants to buy the games on their own. Players who are interested in getting only one or two games out of the collection may want to make their move quickly before they get taken down.
