Senran Kagura Producer: Future Games Will Require More Time To Develop Due To Strict Regulations

Kenichiro Takaki, producer of the Senran Kagura series, recently spoke to Akiba Souken in a special interview on the future of the series.

Although Senran Kagura 7EVEN isn’t coming to Nintendo Switch, future entries in the Senran Kagura series might be affected by tougher worldwide regulations on sexual depiction. Takaki said in order not to be misunderstood, they have to do things a certain way and some things are going to “become harder” to accomplish.

See his full words below:

“Recently, worldwide regulations regarding sexual depiction have been getting stronger, and in that respect, we have to make games in a way that they aren’t misunderstood. Certain things are harder than they’ve ever been before. Given that, I think [the game] is going to take some time… We want to make it happen, so right now we’re at a place where we’re thinking about how to do that, and various other things overall.”

Takaki’s comments come after Sony started going on a censorship spree on PS4. The same spree wasn’t seen on Nintendo Switch.
