Shanghai Authorities Confiscate Retailers’ Copies Of Animal Crossing: New Horizons

Yesterday, we shared with you that China’s government had banned Animal Crossing: New Horizons, effectively scrubbing seller listings and its hash tag on the Chinese Internet.

Now we have learned that the brick-and-mortar stores offering the game aren’t safe – Shanghai authorities have reportedly inspected many retailers in the city to confiscate copies of Animal Crossing: New Horizons. These retailers were also fined as well.

This obviously doesn’t bode well for those who have not purchased the game in China, as it’ll become harder to find.
