Square Enix Details World Of Final Fantasy Maxima’s New Champions, Mirages & More

Square Enix has revealed more interesting additions coming to World Of Final Fantasy Maxima, which is coming to Nintendo Switch.

In particular, a few new champions will cameo in the game:

  • Zack (from Final Fantasy VII)
  • Serah (from Final Fantasy XIII)
  • Cecil (from Final Fantasy IV)

Additionally, some new mirages were highlighted. Finally, we also get gameplay footage of the avatar change system and a fishing minigame.

■ New Champion Characters

Zack from Final Fantasy VII (voiced by Kenichi Suzumura)

Zack is a man resurrected from death. Sometimes his memory gets confused and out of control, but when he is sane, he seems more like himself.

Serah from Final Fantasy XIII-2 (voiced by Minako Kotobuki)

Serah is Snow’s fiancee, but she seems to be suddenly swayed by Zack upon their meeting each other…

—Zack falls from the sky and lands in front of Serah and Shiva Ixion. What happened that cause him to end up here?

Cecil from Final Fantasy IV (voiced by Shizuma Hodoshima)

He ends up in Figaro while searching for the almighty flower known as the “Moonlight Beauty” in order to save “someone important” that has fallen to disease.

—Just like Edgar told him to do, Cecil heads towards the direction where the moon is highest. And there he finds a Yojimbo waiting…!?


■ New Mirages

Yojimbo (Size: L)

Its “Zanmato Iaigiri” attack deals physical damage to all enemies. Sometimes, it may even result in the enemy’s instant death. With its speedy slash also comes an Extra High topple strength.

Daigoro (Size: S)

Its “Bite” attack deals physical damage to a single enemy. Its topple strength is medium.

Gamut (Size: M)

Its “Kozuka” attack strikes enemies randomly three times in a row to deal physical damage. Its topple strength is high.

Lich (Size: L)

Its “Death Cutter” attack deals physical damage to a single enemy, as well as inflicts the “Doom” status ailment. Its topple strength is medium.

Devil Wolf (Size: M)

Its “Curse” attack inflicts a single enemy with various status ailments, as well as lowers its stats.

Ponini (Size: S)

Its “Kick” attack deals physical damage to a single enemy. Its topple strength is medium.
