Super Mario 3D All-Stars Sold 5.21 Million Copies Within Just 12 Days Of Its Release

It looks like Super Mario’s classic 3D-platforming adventures have made quite the windfall for Nintendo this year!

In Nintendo’s financial report for Quarter 2 of the fiscal year ending on 31 March 2021, the company revealed that  Super Mario 3D All-Stars sold around 5.21 million copies within the first 12 days of its worldwide launch (i.e. from September 18 – September 30).

This makes it Nintendo’s second-best selling title for the period of April 2020 – September 2020, with only Animal Crossing: New Horizons outdoing it in with 14.27 million sales in the same period.

Nevertheless, much of this demand was likely spurred on by Nintendo’s announcement that the game collection would only see a limited digital/physical release until 31 March 2020. Many fans probably rushed to grab Super Mario 3D All-Stars out of fear that they would miss their chance to do so in the future.
