Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Emerges As ‘Nintendo Game Of The Year’ In 2019 Golden Joystick Awards

After years of hard work, it looks like Super Smash Bros. Ultimate producer and his team have earned a new accolade.

The fighting crossover game has earned the title of Nintendo Game of the Year in this year’s Golden Joystick Awards. As noted by Gamesradar+, this entry of the long-running Super Smash Bros. franchise “continues its legacy as being a jam-packed celebration of gaming history…[with] more fighters, more stages, and more gameplay modes than any of its predecessors.”

The other nominees that it was competing with included Pokémon Let’s Go Pikachu/EeveeTetris 99Yoshi’s Crafted World, Super Mario Maker 2, Astral Chain, Cadence of Hyrule, Fire Emblem: Three Houses, The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening, and Dragon Quest Builders 2.
