Taiwanese Retailers Forced To Sign Agreement Promising They Won’t Sell Pokemon Sword And Shield Early

Today we have some interesting news about the extent Nintendo has clamping down on Pokemon Sword and Shield leaks.

Hong Kong and Taiwan are two places notorious for breaking street dates for all sorts of video games. Due to the recent Pokemon Sword and Shield leaks, official Nintendo distributor for Taiwan, JustDan, has forced all retailers to sign an agreement where they promise to release Pokemon Sword and Shield strictly on November 15, 2019. If they sell the games before that date, it would be a breach of the agreement.

Translation courtesy of Jonathan:

By signing this agreement, you agree to sell the following goods listed below starting from November 15, 2019. If the agreement is violated, our company shall reserve all rights to pursue this matter through legal means.

Talk is empty, hence (you have to sign this) agreement.

What do you think? Let us know in the comments.

Thanks, Brandon and Jonathan.
