Team Sonic Racing On Switch Is Almost Impossible To Play Online In A Team With Friends

Team Sonic Racing has just been released for Nintendo Switch, but those looking to play online in a team with their friends are going to face a bit of a challenge to make it happen.

Unlike the PS4 and XB1, the Switch does not have its own built in party/invite system for online play with friends. While many other games on Switch offer workarounds and solutions to this limitation, SEGA neglected to do so for Team Sonic Racing. This means that Switch owners who want to play on a team with their friends will have to rely on luck to be assigned to the same team, while their PS4 and XB1 counterparts can use their own party/invite systems.

The failure to address this issue seems like a pretty big oversight on SEGA’s part, especially after they claimed one of their goals was to provide the “same experience” across all platforms. Hopefully they will be able to figure out a solution to this problem, as it kind of puts a damper on the whole “team” aspect of Team Sonic Racing.
