On September 19, 2018, a Malaysian artist called ayyk92 came up with a brilliant comic featuring the Super Crown from New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe.

In the comic, Bowser uses the Super Crown on himself to transform into Bowsette, a human princess version of Peach.

The comic went viral and many people started calling the human Bowser “Bowsette”. Hundreds of memes and fan art were made of Bowsette and even Nintendo’s PR department was asked what they thought about it. The hype slowly died down after Nintendo said they had no comment.
