It looks like The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel fans are in for some new animated action in the future!
Falcom has officially announced that a TV anime based on the JRPG series is in development, with a release window of 2022. Instead of depicting protagonist Rean Schwarzer and his companions in the giant military nation of Erebonia like in the games, the anime series will apparently depict an original story that’s set in the western part of the Zemurian continent.
According to Falcom, four companies will be helming the project:
- UserJoy Technology, a major game company that has released Falcom products in Taiwan and Asian countries;
- Funimation Global Group, a global distributor of anime;
- SYOU, a content fund; and
- NADA Holdings, an anime product planning company.
Besides this, Falcom did not reveal further details.
We’ll report back as we hear more in the future. Stay tuned!
