The Open Hand Foundation was established in 2003 by Charles Khalil (Jirard’s Dad) in an attempt to help raise awareness around dementia while funding research. For the last 16 years, the foundation has been working with the UCSF Memory and Aging Center (MAC) to not only help with research and prevention, but to provide aid for families who’ve found out a love one has been diagnosed with Dementia.

The Open Hand Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization.
