As many folks worldwide know by now, the tragic death of George Floyd has spurred on a wave of angry protests across the US. We’ve already seen Nintendo of America share their take on the situation, and now it looks like The Pokemon Company International is making its move too.
The company recently shared their own message promoting Black Lives Matter on social media – where it expressed its support for the impacted communities at large. In addition to this, The Pokemon Company International also pledged two donations of $100,000 each to the NAACP (National Association for the Advancement of Colored People) and the Black Lives Matter movement.
We leave you with their full statement below:
“Here at The Pokemon Company International, we believe in friendship, inclusivity, and equity. These are the values that anchor the Pokemon brand. There is no place for oppression within our community.
We stand in solidarity with our Black employees fans and families who continue to be impacted by systemic racism and senseless violence.
We will be making a $100.000 donation to the NAACP and a $100,000 donation to Black Lives Matter. Our commitment to you in ongoing, and our support will be as well.
We believe the Black Lives Matter.“
