Urshifu’s New Exclusive Moves And G-Max Moves Detailed

Urshifu’s New Exclusive Moves And G-Max Moves Detailed

Earlier today, The Pokemon Company released loads of new details for the upcoming Pokemon Sword/Shield expansions – which will add the Isle of Armor and Crown Tundra as new locations in the game. Of course, these reveals also showcased some of the unique moves of the all-new Wushu Pokemon Urshifu!

In particular Urshifu will boast two new exclusive moves depending on which form it evolved into when it was originally Kubfu. Single Strike Style Urshifu will learn Wicked Blow, a single-strike that always results in a critical hit. Meanwhile, Rapid Strike Style Urshifu will learn Surging Strikes, a three-hit combo that also results in critical hits.

In addition to this, Urshifu’s two Gigantamax forms will have unique G-Max moves as well. All Dark-type attacks by Single Strike Style Gigantamax Urshifu will change to G-Max One Blow, while all Water-type attacks by Rapid Strike Style Gigantamax Urshifu will change to G-Max Rapid Flow. Both of these moves will ignore defensive moves such as Protect!

EXCLUSIVE MOVES THAT ONLY THE LEGENDARY POKÉMON URSHIFU CAN LEARN!

It seems that Urshifu has two forms—Single Strike Style and Rapid Strike Style—and it appears that each form can learn different moves and G-Max Moves.

SINGLE STRIKE STYLE URSHIFU’S SIGNATURE MOVE: WICKED BLOW!

An Urshifu that has followed the path of darkness can unleash this single, severe blow. This move always results in a critical hit, allowing Urshifu to attack while ignoring the target’s stat changes.

RAPID STRIKE STYLE URSHIFU’S SIGNATURE MOVE: SURGING STRIKES!

An Urshifu that has followed the path of water can unleash this flowing three-hit combo. This move always results in critical hits, allowing Urshifu to attack while ignoring the target’s stat changes.

THE G-MAX MOVES G-MAX ONE BLOW AND G-MAX RAPID FLOW

Dark-type attacks used by Single Strike Style Gigantamax Urshifu will change to G-Max One Blow. Water-type attacks used by Rapid Strike Style Gigantamax Urshifu will change to G-Max Rapid Flow. G-Max One Blow and G-Max Rapid Flow can deal damage even if a target defends itself by using moves like Max Guard or Protect.

The Isle of Armor expansion for both games will be launching on 17 June 2020. The Crown Tundra expansion will launch later in 2020.

We’ll report back as we hear more!
