■ About

Until Our (Game) World is Ready

This is Koenji, a neighborhood in the capital of Tokyo where the express train doesn’t stop. In this sleepless town, simple country girl Ai Otori stepped into the world of a game development company whose staff really can’t sleep. Will her new daily life with her mysteriously cold sister Kokoro and unusual but pleasant coworkers be a fun picnic or a grueling death march?! So starts the (game) creation story that just might give you a peek behind the scenes of the very game you’re playing.

The Shimarisu Team brings you a slightly meta game company adventure game!

Dreams and Reality Re:Master is a bubbly-cute girls love adventure game about game developers. Our last two games in the Nurse Love Addiction series focused on professional life with nurses and nursing students at a hospital. This game continues that focus, putting the spotlight on the people in a game development office, creating a story much like the life our team experiences daily.

The game is set at Eureka Software, a small game development company tucked away in Koenji, a neighborhood not far from the center of the capital city Tokyo. To this day it remains wrapped in the kindness of its working class residents. Our protagonist Ai is a simple girl from the country who makes the leap alone to see her younger sister Kokoro, currently a game company employee. The sisters had lived apart a long time due to their parents’ separation.

Unused to working as a game developer, Ai finds herself leading a pressured but exciting, game-like daily life surrounded by strange characters even weirder than you’d find in an actual game. Her one worry is the frigid, off-putting attitude that her sister Kokoro gives her. Ai, who moved to Tokyo alone for the sake of her sister, is losing the foundation of her life. And just what is the significance of Nie Witch, the doujin game that Eureka Software is remaking and Ai suddenly finds herself working on?

Hio Kosaka, popular GL novel writer, will depict the nervous wavering of a girl’s heart. Her script will be like a clear stream flowing through a world wrapped in the gentle and warm sensation of light gently filtering through the trees, delivering the same atmosphere of our previous hit, Nurse Love Addiction.

Backing her up will be Hatsumi Shimizu, who garnered praise for her depictions in the FLOWERS series by Innocent Grey, as well as familiar faces to Kogado Studio, Naoyuki Takeuchi (Tristia of the Deep-Blue Sea, etc., Kogado Studio) and Maoto Nishikawa (Symphonic Rain, Kogado Studio) who will weave into the story the reality of working at a game developer.

In charge of designing the unique heroines is Choko Fuji, current ace Japanese artists who possesses an unsurpassed artistic touch and creative coloring. With every stroke of the pen, Fuji will create a daring yet modest depiction of the delicate subtleties of the heart and fleeting changes of expression.

So starts the (game) creation story that may just expand your world.

■ Main Characters

Ai Otori

  • Assistant Director (Trainee)
  • Voice Actor: Maya Yoshioka

This game’s main character.

Ai adores her younger sister, Kokoro. She’s meek and diligent, but thinks she’s a boring person.

She has a gloomy, negative temperament, but is a bit of an airhead. People around her think she’s interesting.

When she gets excited, her hometown accent colors her speech.

She used to enjoy making art, but she fell into a slump and currently isn’t drawing.
Following her sister, she moved to Tokyo alone and got hired by Eureka Software.

Kokoro Yanigaya

  • Game Director
  • Voice Actor: Manami Numakura

Back when she was still in her hometown with her older sister Ai, before she joined Eureka Software, she was a cheerful, friendly, puppy-like girl. Now that she’s become an adult, Kokoro is cool young woman who says whatever is on her mind.

It’s unclear why she’s so harsh toward her sister Ai.

As she’s still a novice director, her job is demanding day-in and day-out, leaving her constantly in a bad mood.

Saki Mugendo

  • Narrative Writer
  • Voice Actor: Sora Tokui

Eureka Software’s lead narrative writer.

Always wearing headphones, Saki is a self-centered girl who doesn’t listen when people talk to her and goes about things the way she feels like.

She always wears a track suit and looks younger than she is due to her short height and cute looks.

She was the writer for the original version of Dreams and Reality – Nie, the Witch, and the End of the World that they are remaking now and is a veteran of Eureka Software.

She’s always going “roar!!” so people call her Tinysaurus.

Nana Tachibana

  • Office Staff (Voice Actor)
  • Voice Actor: Siori Izawa

Part-time worker who does administrative work other than Eureka Software development, like answering phones and making tea.

Nana is actually a struggling voice actor who can’t pay the bills yet on acting alone.
She creates a pleasant atmosphere at Eureka. Her bright personality lets her join in on any fun and she’s friendly and open with everyone.

A self-professed “Banana Maid.” Cosplaying is just her hobby.

Marie Mahler

  • Illustrator / Keyframe Artist
  • Voice Actor: Haruna Ikezawa

A Greek illustrator who ended up working at Eureka Software.

A straightforward person with unwavering conviction. She has the wits to quickly grasp the true essence of any matter.

Her military clothes are her “uniform.”

Marie loves Japanese culture.

■ Minor Characters (Non-Route Characters)

Honoka Daigo

  • President and Programmer and Marketing
  • Voice Actor: Shizuka Ito

A gentle boss who is like an older sister to her staff. When she starts drinking, however, she gets a little out of hand.

She founded Eureka Software and started development on a commercial remake of the doujin game Dreams and Reality – Nie, the Witch, and the End of the World.
Possessing a shrewd hidden side, she is called various disquieting nicknames in the game business world.

Banako

  • Vice President
  • Voice Actor: Yuka Otsubo

A St. Bernard that is basically the mascot of Eureka Software.

Banako is Honoka’s dog, but she often leaves her behind when heading out of the office, so Ai is mainly in charge of walks.

She has an energy drink for Saki hanging from her neck, but as of yet it hasn’t been drunk.
