What’s The Best Way To Store amiibo?

If you’re an amiibo collector or someone who buys amiibo for fun, you may have probably wondered how amiibo should be best stored or whether they should be taken out of the box.

Japanese Nintendo collector WanzoGames conducted a 2 month long experiment to find out just that. In this experiment, multiple Reese amiibo are stored in different places and room conditions, left untouched for two months. Here are the results of the experiment.

Group 1: amiibo stored in a cool room with temperature 28 degree Celsius / 82.4 degree Fahrenheit or lower

From left to right: Unopened amiibo, unopened amiibo stored in ziplock bag, amiibo taken out of the box

Results: All of them look the same.

Group 2: amiibo stored in a room that may surpass 35 degree Celsius / 95 degree Fahrenheit

From left to right: Unopened amiibo, unopened amiibo stored in ziplock bag x2

Results: Surprisingly, all of them look the same as the first group of amiibo which were stored in favorable conditions.

Group 3: Placed in direct sunlight

Here’s how the amiibo looked like 2 months before…

2 months later, this happens:

While the box has faded, the amiibo retained its color and quality, despite receiving direct sunlight.

Group 4: Placed inside a box in the car’s storage

Results: Looks exactly the same as the amiibo in Group 1.
