WSJ Reporter: “Nintendo Has Started Production Of New Switch Models, Suggesting Announcement Is Near”

An exciting and intriguing tidbit about the apparent new Switch models has been recently shared by Wall Street Journal reporter Takashi Mochizuki.

According to Mochizuki’s report, Nintendo is now shifting part of Switch production to Southeast Asia from China to limit the impact of possible U.S. tariffs on Chinese-made electronics. This was confirmed to Mochizuki by people currently working on Nintendo’s supply chain.

Now, here’s the interesting bit. Mochizuki stated that this particular development means that Nintendo have also begun productions for the reportedly two new incoming Switch models, – the “enhanced” and “cheaper” versions. This, now, would entail that an impending announcement is coming soon. How soon, you ask? Well, we could surmise Nintendo might be planning to make the announcement during the next Nintendo Direct, probably in August or September?

My latest: Nintendo is shifting part of Switch production from China amid U.S-China trade conflict. Not interested in subject? Then how about this: it has started production of new models, suggesting announcement is near.
