Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition Outperforms Original At Launch In Japan, Tops The eShop Charts

Today we have a few pieces of news to share with you about how Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition has performed at launch in Japan.

According to Famitsu’s sales figures for May 25 to May 31, 2020, Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition was the second bestselling game of the week, clocking in 90,789 copies. The bestselling game of the week was Animal Crossing: New Horizons, which moved 102,749 copies.

When comparing past sales figures with Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition, it seems the Definitive Edition has outperformed the original game on Wii in Japan. Xenoblade Chronicles sold 79,163 units on its first week, as compared to the 90,789 copies the Definitive Edition sold on Switch:
