Another huge breakthrough has been made in the Nintendo Switch homebrew community this week – the ability to use mods (modifications) in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
Previously, mods were only possible in the Wii U version of Breath of the Wild. Now with a tool called LayeredFS, gamers can use mods such as playing as Waluigi or even the protagonist of Grand Theft Auto when the game boots up.
However, while players can now start the game with mods activated, it takes 1.5 minutes to boot. SciresM, the developer of LayeredFS, says he’ll optimize it further to keep loading times to the minimum.
