LINE has published a survey which asked 3863 teenagers and young adults in Japan what they were most crazed about in 2019.

According to the results, Pokemon was the top, if not one of the top things Japanese youngsters were excited for in 2019. Among 15 – 18 year old males, Pokemon was the second hottest thing of 2019 (8.3%). For males aged 19 to 22 and aged 23 to 24, Pokemon was the number 1 thing they were crazy for in 2019, with 16.5% of those aged 19 to 22 and 12.8% of those aged 23 to 24 agreeing that’s the case. Also worth pointing out is that Pokemon GO was the 7th most exciting topic for males aged 19 to 22 last year.

As for female respondents, Pokemon was the fifth most crazed topic for those aged 15 to 18, the third most crazy thing for those aged 19 to 22 and aged 23 to 24. Tapioca (bubble tea) was the number 1 most crazy thing for females across all age groups and for males in the 15 to 18 age group.
