7-Year-Old Singaporean Girl Wins 2020 Oceania Pokemon International Junior Championship
For many, the title of ‘Pokemon Champion’ often conjures up suave archetypes such as Red and Lance: hardcore strategists who barely break a smile while trampling their opponents. Well, that’s not quite the case for this month’s newest Pokemon Junior Champion – whose recent victory is already melting hearts across the internet.
Pictured above is Simone Lim, a 7-year-old Singaporean girl who took first place in today’s 2020 Pokemon International Championships Junior bracket. She emerged victorious after a stunning gambit against reigning Junior Champion Justin Miranda-Radbord – where she managed to turn the tide with her lone Tyranitar against Justin’s Dusklops and Rhyperior combo!

Besides carrying around an adorable Eevee plushy during the whole competition, Simone also charmed many folks with her riveting commentary (or lack therefore) after the match (video starts at 4:55:10):
Congratulations to Simone Lim, and to the other trainers who emerged victorious in this year’s Oceania International championships! Here’s hoping they hold on to the crown next year!
