Actor Ryan Reynolds has uploaded a new promo for Detective Pikachu, detailing how he transforms from a human man into an electric mouse Pokemon for the movie.

In the video, Reynolds provides a humorously simplified explanation of the complicated motion capture process he goes through in order to play the part of Detective Pikachu. Towards the end, we catch a brief terrifying glimpse of Pikachu’s untextured model, as well as a much less horrifying look at Charmander, Squirtle and Bulbasaur’s models.
