Nippon Ichi Software Reportedly In Financial Trouble, Employees Not Getting Paid
Nippon Ichi Software, the company behind the well-beloved Disgaea series, appears to be hitting some hard times.
According to reports by Japanese news outlets and Twitter user HDKirin, the RPG publisher is now suffering financial problems. Due to poor sales of its games, the company is in such dire straits that it cannot even afford to pay its employees any longer.
In fact, the company has now issued a MS (Moving Strike) Warrant – which means it’s attempting to raise funds through means other than borrowing from banks or investors. This could be considered a risky move, and it looks like NIS might really be backed into a corner.

We’re not sure what will happen to NIS from here on out – but it would be a real shame to lose their library of amazing RPG titles. We’ll report back as the situation develops in the future.
