Nintendo Of Canada Apologizes For Pokemon Scarlet/Violet Performance Issues

Although Pokemon Scarlet And Violet saw massive commercial success on launch, they were also criticized for releasing with a number of bugs and glitches, as well as poor game performance overall.

In a recent interview with the Financial Post, Nintendo Of Canada general manager Susan Pennefather acknowledged and apologized for the issues plaguing the games, stating that they were taking the negative reception “to heart”. She also said that player feedback was being taken “very seriously” and that the company was working on improvements for the games.

Financial Post: The latest Pokemon games proved wildly successful, but they also suffered plenty of performance problems and glitches — a problem not common in Nintendo exclusives. What did you learn from that software launch?

Susan Pennefather: You know, we absolutely apologize. Because it is so important to give players a positive experience with our games, and when this doesn’t happen we do take it very much to heart. What I can say is the feedback from players has absolutely been taken very seriously. And we are working on improvements to these games.

Pennefather’s statement echoes the one Nintendo shared with the official patchnotes for Pokemon Scarlet And Violet Version 1.1.0., which itself fixed a few of the glitches affecting the game. The next major patch is reportedly coming later this month, and it will be interesting to see how much performance improves, if at all.
