Nintendo has announced the next Splatfests coming to Splatoon 3.

The next Splatfest event will vary depending on region. For the  EU/UK servers, players will be put against each other based on which is their go-to greeting: handshakes for Shiver, fist bumps for Frye, and hugs for Big Man. The splatfest will run from November 18th 2023 till November 20th 2023.

In Japan, the splatfest teams will instead be divided by the preferred name for Imagawayaki, a type of Japanese dessert that is called by different names in different regions of Japan. The teams are Kaiten-yaki (Kansai/Kyushu) for Shiver,  Oban-yaki (Kansai) for Frye, and Imagawa-yaki for Big Man.

日本のお題は「コレなんて呼ぶ？ 回転焼き vs 大判焼き vs 今川焼き」。
期間は、11月18日(土)午前9時～20日(月)午前9時の48時間だ。

At the time of this writing. it is not known whether the North American server will follow the EU/UK region, or be something else entirely. Stay tuned for more updates as they come.
